PhotoSweep: Duplicate Cleaner

PhotoSweep — because the scary part of a photo cleaner is deleting the wrong one

Ten burst shots to keep one. The same picture saved three times after it travels through a messenger. That is how a gallery grows. PhotoSweep finds those photos for you, and then is careful on the way out.

■ What makes it different
· Selecting an entire set is structurally impossible. The sharpest photo in a group always stays.
· Blur is not a hard-coded number. The app reads the sharpness spread of your own gallery and only calls the bottom few percent blurry, so the bar does not drift between phones and lenses.
· Single-photo categories such as screenshots and blurry shots start with nothing selected. Only what you pick goes.
· No internet. Every bit of analysis finishes on this device and not one photo ever leaves it.

■ What it finds
· Exact duplicates — byte-for-byte copies
· Similar photos — burst shots grouped together
· Messenger re-saves — a received photo saved again
· Blurry shots — the ones that missed focus
· Too dark or blown out
· Closed eyes — who blinked among near-identical frames (judged on-device)
· Screenshots, document photos, old large videos, similar videos

■ Safety
· On Android 11 and up, deleted photos go to the system trash and can be restored for 30 days.
· Favorites are excluded by default.
· Album lock — keep an album out of the candidate list entirely.
· A "never suggest again" list, so a photo you saved once stops coming back.
· Compare two photos side by side, full screen, before anything goes.

■ Gaining space without deleting
· Shrink — lower the resolution in place instead of deleting. Capture date and orientation are carried over.
· Swipe to clean — one photo at a time, keep or let go.
· On this day — tidy up while you revisit the memory.

■ History and stats
· Cleanup history and restore — what went when, and a way back.
· Space forecast — how long your storage lasts at your current pace
· Size by album and by kind, cleanup streaks, achievements

■ Privacy
Nothing about your photos is transmitted. No account, no sign-in, no server of ours. What is stored is a fingerprint per photo plus numbers like sharpness, size and date — and a photo cannot be rebuilt from those. The internet is used only to load ads.
