FilmRoll: 35mm Film Camera

FilmRoll is an analog film camera for your phone.

Load a roll and take it one frame at a time. The sound of the film winding on, the orange date stamp, half frame and double exposure — the feel of picking up a real film camera. Finished rolls come alive in the darkroom, surfacing one print at a time.

■ 35 film stocks — developed, not filtered

These are not presets with the saturation slider pushed up. A full film simulation runs over every photo on your GPU: per-channel gamma curves, an S-curve rolloff, black lift, split toning, halation around the highlights and grain sized to each stock.

· 10 starter stocks — free from the very first frame
· Color, black & white, slide, cinema and experimental packs
· From everyday color negative to gritty ISO 3200 black & white, infrared, orthochromatic, tungsten cinema, anamorphic flare, redscale, expired film and cross processing
· Film comparison — see one photo on four stocks side by side

■ Shoot the way a film camera shoots

· 8, 12, 24 and 36-exposure rolls, plus a 72-frame half-frame roll
· Six formats — 35mm 3:2, medium format 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 65:24 panorama and half frame
· Double exposure, date stamp, exposure compensation, self-timer, volume-key shutter
· A manual film-advance lever and a disposable mode that hides the frame counter
· A mechanical shutter sound and the whirr of the film winding on

■ Darkroom and album

· Open a roll and watch the prints appear, then pick your best shots
· Grid view or film strip view
· Write a note on the back of any photo — search by note, roll name or film
· Filter by film, month and format, and revisit this day in past years
· Redevelop on a different stock, fine-tune exposure, warmth and grain
· Import photos from your gallery and develop them on film

■ Share it

· Four contact sheet layouts — classic, instant, negative strips and album page
· 9:16 story cards
· Slideshow GIFs that advance like film
· A developing-ticket card

■ Quiet and safe

· Fully offline — shooting and developing work in airplane mode
· Your photos never leave the device. No server, no account
· Full backup and restore, photos included
· Home screen widget and ready notifications
· Light and dark theme
