About Dots and Boxes - Offline Game

Take turns drawing lines between dots and claim more boxes than your opponent. Play Dots and Boxes by yourself, or share one phone between two. It works offline and has no sign-in.

■ The line you tap is the line you get

- The first tap picks a line and shows it. Tap the same line again, or tap Draw, to draw it.
- Spots where the line is unclear, such as right on a dot or in the middle of a box, pick nothing. No stray lines.
- The picked line shows whether it would complete a box.
- Prefer speed? Switch to drawing in one tap in Settings.

■ See why it happened

- Completing a box gives another move, and one line under the board says so each time. Example: Computer: completed boxes: 2 - goes again.
- Every completed box shows its owner's mark.
- The line that was just drawn is highlighted.
- When the computer passes without completing a box, that is shown too. The rules explain why a player would do that.

■ Play in one tap

- Play now on the home screen opens a new game with your last settings.
- Five board sizes: 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 5×6 and 6×6. The numbers count boxes.

■ Play the computer

- Six levels: Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Master.
- Choose who goes first: Me, Computer or Random.
- Stuck? Ask for a hint.
- Wins, draws, losses and win streaks add up by level, and your last 10 games are listed together.

■ 2 players on one phone

- P1 and P2 take turns on the same phone.
- Completing a box writes your number in it.

■ Easy to play

- Undo has no limit.
- The game is saved after each line. Once you have drawn a line, Resume brings the game back after you close the app.
- When a game ends you see the score and the winner first, and the next screen comes only after you tap See result.
- No background music. Sound and vibration can be turned off in Settings.

■ Rules

- Draw one horizontal or vertical line between two neighboring dots.
- Whoever draws the fourth side of a box owns it and moves again.
- The game ends when every line is drawn. More boxes wins, and equal counts are a draw.
