Mushroom Forecast & Spots

Mushroom Rain tells you when to go foraging. Not a generic "porcini in August" calendar, but a calculation from your forest's real weather: how much rain fell over three weeks, how warm the soil is, and how many days after the rain the flush will come.

TODAY'S FOREST INDEX
One number from 0 to 100: quiet, a few, fruiting or flush. Plus a plain sentence: "Expected on Saturday", "Mushrooms are up — orange boletes are best right now", "Dry for 9 days — it needs rain".

RAIN AND FLUSH — TWO WEEKS AHEAD
Mushrooms don't appear right after rain but 3–9 days later, depending on species and warmth. The chart shows when it rained and when the flush will arrive. The next few days are reliable; further out is a guide refined daily.

13 SPECIES — EACH WITH ITS OWN FORECAST
Porcini, birch bolete, orange bolete, chanterelle, slippery jack, honey fungus, saffron milk cap, milk cap, russula, grey knight, oyster mushroom, plus morels in spring and velvet shank during winter thaws. For each: the season at your latitude, how many days until it fruits and why — soil warmth, rain, humidity.

BEST DAY OF THE WEEK
We pick the day with the highest index and no heavy rain or wind — easy to plan a day off.

YOUR OWN SPOTS
Save a spot by GPS with one tap right in the forest. Each spot gets its own forecast, a note and an alert when your mushrooms are up there. Spots stay on your phone only.

FINDS DIARY
What you found, where and how many, with photos. The app remembers the index and days after rain — over time you'll see when you get lucky.

GUIDE AND DANGEROUS LOOK-ALIKES
26 species painted in the style of an old field guide: edible mushrooms and those they are confused with — death cap, bitter bolete, sulphur tuft, false morel, funeral bell. Key features up close, what not to confuse it with, where and when it grows. Articles: safe foraging rules, what to do in case of poisoning, how the forecast works, where to look, a gear checklist.

IN WINTER TOO
The season at your latitude, preparation and the guide — and during thaws the forecast tracks velvet shank.
