The book "Al-Tamhid lima fi al-Muwatta' min al-Ma'ani wa al-Asanid" (Introduction to the Meanings and Chains of Transmission in al-Muwatta') is a comprehensive hadith and fiqh encyclopedia by the Imam and hadith master Abu Umar ibn Abd al-Barr al-Qurtubi (d. 463 AH). It is considered a commentary on Imam Malik's Muwatta', and its composition took over 30 years.

Content of the book: It focuses on explaining the hadiths with complete chains of transmission (connected, disconnected, and broken), while omitting the narrations and sayings of the Successors (Tabi'in) found in al-Muwatta'.
