Mirqat al-Mafatih Sharh Mishkat al-Masabih is a commentary on the books of Hadith, specifically Mishkat al-Masabih by al-Tabrizi. The author is Sheikh Mulla Ali ibn Sultan Muhammad al-Harawi al-Qari (known as Mulla Ali al-Qari), who died in 1014 AH. He was a renowned scholar, a Hanafi jurist, a Hadith scholar, and a Quranic commentator. He was born in Herat (present-day Afghanistan) and later moved to Mecca, where he remained until his death. The original text of the book is Masabih al-Sunnah, a collection of Hadiths by Imam al-Baghawi, categorized as either Sahih (authentic) or Hasan (good). Mishkat al-Masabih was revised by Imam al-Khatib al-Tabrizi, who added chains of transmission (isnad), traced the Hadiths back to their sources (attributing them to the compilers of Sunan and Musnad collections), and added a third chapter to each section.
