Saugoti: Recovery Vault

Losing one phone can also mean losing the codes and records needed to regain access to important accounts. Saugoti creates a recovery net from people you already trust.

Add selected recovery codes, authenticator seeds, short notes, or document images to an encrypted vault. Saugoti divides the vault key into separate fragments and places one fragment on each guardian’s phone during an in-person nearby transfer.

If your phone is lost, begin a time-limited recovery ceremony on the replacement phone. Meet your guardians, compare the same short code on both screens, and ask each person to approve independently. The vault opens only after the threshold you chose is reached and the recovered key matches the encrypted snapshot.

Protected material stays protected

Vault content is encrypted on the owner’s phone. Guardian phones hold one protected fragment and an encrypted snapshot; a single guardian cannot read the vault.

Saugoti uses a small online service only for signed, opaque ceremony and reachability records.

Designed for real meetings

Enrollment and recovery use nearby radio access while the participating phones are together. Each phone shows the same verification digits. If the digits do not match, stop the connection. Recovery does not silently ask guardians or release a fragment in the background.

Know the limits

Saugoti helps when one phone is lost and fewer guardians than the chosen threshold are compromised. Recovery can fail if too few current guardians remain available. It cannot protect content after you reveal it, a modified operating system, or coercion of enough guardians.
