KAKUNIN MAP is a disaster prevention app that allows you to see the elevation and flood inundation area of ​​your current location at a glance on a map. It's useful for preparing for floods by finding higher and lower areas in the surrounding area, as well as nearby evacuation shelters and shelters.

■ Main Features

【Show higher and lower areas (elevation difference display)】
Based on your current elevation, the app displays how many meters higher or lower the surrounding land is compared to you using color coding.

• Lower areas: 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m, 5m or more (light blue → dark blue)

• Higher areas: 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m, 25m or more (light brown → dark brown)

The app displays an area with a radius of approximately 1,200m centered on your current location, divided into approximately 250m square sections (meshes). The highest section within the range flashes, making it easy to quickly identify the direction of higher ground.

[Display Low-lying Areas]
Flat and gently sloping areas are highlighted in red.

[Overlay Flood Inundation Areas]
Based on data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, areas expected to be inundated by the maximum anticipated flood are overlaid on the map using colors corresponding to the inundation depth (less than 0.5m, 0.5-3m, 3-5m, 5-10m, 10m or more).

[Find Nearby Evacuation Sites/Shelters]
Designated emergency evacuation sites and shelters are displayed on the map, allowing you to see a list of locations close to your current location.

[Display Current Location/Heading-Up Support]
Your current location is displayed on the map. Switching to heading-up rotates the map according to the device's orientation, allowing you to intuitively understand the relative positions of high and low areas around you.

[Switch to Easy-to-Read Maps]
You can choose from easy-to-read map styles, such as standard map style and light-colored map style.

■ How to interpret elevation differences
The elevation difference is an "estimate" showing the difference between the elevation of each approximately 250m square area and the elevation of your current location. Because there are subtle elevation differences even within a single area, it may differ from the actual height of roads or the immediate vicinity of buildings.
