About Matera Card

To be a trace of profound attention, closeness and proximity to young people, offering them some concrete proposals, to build together a "sign" and, at the same time, make a "dream" come true.

From this leap of vision, the OLTRE L'ARTE cooperative was born in 2008 in Matera, to embark on the path of "doing business" having as a "compass" of its daily action not only profit, but also and above all the values ​​of integration of disadvantaged subjects, the inclusion of women in the working world, attention to tourism accessible to all, the proposal of tourist itineraries enriched by the rediscovery of the spirituality of places and history.

Today OLTRE L'ARTE has over 50 employees, mainly engaged in a strategic sector of the economy of Matera and Basilicata: tourism.

The Coop. BEYOND ART was born from an intuition of the Italian Church, the "Progetto Policoro", designed to encourage the inclusion of young people in the world of work with a new approach, not necessarily linked to the logic of a "permanent position", but rather to the ability to give value to the skills of individuals, which when shared - according to the logic of the cooperative - become a precious asset.

BEYOND ART is the result of a desire shared by some young people, eager to invest in themselves to create a new working reality in their own territory.

Even the name itself - Oltre l'Arte - refers to the fundamental vocation of the cooperative: to enhance the historical-artistic heritage of a religious nature of the Matera area, going "beyond art", i.e. restoring the spiritual value of this heritage, always attentive to offer tourists a warm welcome and quality service.
