About Kenntnisprüfung Arzt
Preparation for the oral knowledge examination for physicians with a degree obtained abroad—available in all 16 German federal states.
Independent learning platform, not offered by any government agency or chamber. Legal basis for the examination: Section 3 Paragraph 3 of the Federal Medical Practitioners' Regulations and Section 37 of the Licensing Regulations for Physicians, official text: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/_appro_2002/__37.html
2,200 questions from 18 medical specialties, each with a fully formulated answer in the form it will be spoken in the examination.
WHO IS THE APP FOR?
For all those facing the knowledge examination—the final step toward licensure if the equivalence of their foreign medical degree has not been established. Depending on the country, it is also called the equivalence assessment or the deficiency assessment.
2,200 questions from 18 medical specialties, each with a fully formulated answer in the form in which it will be spoken in the examination. The exam content is governed by federal law and is therefore the same everywhere: internal medicine and surgery, plus emergency medicine, clinical pharmacology, imaging procedures, radiation protection, and the legal aspects of medical practice.
ALL 16 FEDERAL STATES
What differs is not the content, but the procedure: which authority decides and who administers the exam. In several states, this is done by two bodies—in Brandenburg, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein, the Medical Association administers the exam; in Thuringia, it is the Jena Medical Faculty.
The app lists the responsible authority, the examining body, the specifics of the procedure, and the official websites for each state. It also includes the nationwide regulations: subjects, procedure including patient presentation, duration of 60 to 90 minutes, examination board, and retakes.
HOW THE APP IS STRUCTURED
You read the question. You answer aloud—just like at the exam table. Only then do you display your answer and compare it.
This is what distinguishes the app from multiple-choice questions: the knowledge test is a conversation. Those who only recognize the answers won't pass.
THE ANSWERS
Each answer is structured like an exam presentation: definition, etiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, therapy, complications—and a key point to remember.
Key terms are highlighted to help you retain the details: dosages, time windows, threshold values, and proper nouns.
YOUR PROGRESS
A score shows your progress. You'll reach 100 percent if you read each question twice—once to familiarize yourself with it, and once to solidify your understanding. After that, you can repeat as many questions as you like without affecting your progress.
The app remembers where you left off—for the entire list and for each subject area individually.
