WLU ww locator

WW Locator converts geographic coordinates into the Maidenhead grid locator used by amateur radio operators, and works the other way round too: from locator to coordinates.

Type coordinates in any of the usual formats - decimal degrees, degrees and minutes, degrees minutes and seconds, with or without the hemisphere letters - or use the device's position or a tap on the map. The matching locator comes out right away, with the area it covers drawn on the map, and the conversion works offline too. Give it two locators and it also tells you how far apart they are and where to point the antenna, and draws the path on the map.

FEATURES

- Convert coordinates to WW locator and back
- Distance between two locators in kilometres and miles, with the path drawn on the map
- Azimuth between the two locators, forward and reverse, in degrees from true north and in compass points, labelled beside each end of the path on the map
- Automatic recognition of several coordinate formats (decimal degrees, degrees/minutes, degrees/minutes/seconds, with different separators)
- Locator at 2, 4, 6 or 8 characters, with adjustable precision
- Position from the device's GPS with a tap (Use my position)
- Follow me mode: the locator keeps itself up to date as you move, and goes off when you say so
- Pick the point directly on the map
- Result coordinates shown in three formats at once (decimal degrees, degrees/minutes, degrees/minutes/seconds)
- OpenStreetMap view with the locator square drawn to scale
- A screen that follows the device: on tablets, on Windows and with the phone held sideways the map and the result stand side by side instead of one above the other
- A notice on startup when a newer version has been published on the store (Android only)
- Conversions work offline: only the map needs a connection

No personal data is collected or transmitted: your position stays on the device.
