THE CHAPTERS
I. The Heel Prick (free): five days old, Effie has the newborn blood spot test. DNA and gene expression: the double helix, the HBB gene, transcription, splicing, translation, and why she is a sickle cell carrier.
II. The Harbour Wall: at seven she falls on a harbour wall and skins her knee. Cell division: skin stem cells, the cell cycle and its checkpoints, p53, DNA replication and repair.
III. The Family Portrait: her brother Kojo paints the grass red-brown. Inheritance: meiosis and crossing over, Mendel and Punnett squares, X-linked colour vision, freckles and the MC1R gene, reading a pedigree.
Each chapter ends with a what-if, from sickle cell found at birth to cells that divide unchecked.

A STORY YOU PLAY
Each chapter is told from inside Effie's cells. You don't watch a gene being read. You do it: pair bases on a template strand, lift an intron out, bring the matching tRNA, line chromosomes up for mitosis, hold two chromatids together until they cross over. Nothing is timed, and every moment waits for you.

THE FAMILY ALBUM, EVERY CLAIM CITED
Every structure you meet becomes a 3D specimen, and each gene's is filed in the drawer of the chromosome that carries it. Each card explains it and names its source in peer-reviewed research or a standard textbook; where the story simplifies, it says how and why. The Family Tree grows with each chapter, drawn with standard pedigree symbols, so you can follow one allele down the generations. Study view shows which specimens teach each topic of a course outline you pick.

SHORT, SPACED RECALL
While you're away, the Album runs a night shift: a few cards wear, the way DNA picks up damage. When you come back, a short recall round repairs them. Your cells really do repair their DNA all day and night; the Album borrows the idea. Recall is capped each day, so a missed day never piles up.

The videos come from Google AdMob; buyers never see them, and there are no other ads. A purchase made on Google Play doesn’t carry over to the App Store.
