About Steady – Daily Gita Meditation
Steady builds a steadier mind: one verse of the Bhagavad Gita, as a short voice-guided meditation, every day.
Press play, settle with the breathing circle, and close your eyes. A warm voice leads the whole sit: a gentle arrival, the verse's teaching woven into the practice, a true silence to rest in, and a quiet return. It ends with the verse's own question, and a private space to write what surfaced.
THE DAILY MEDITATION
• One Gita verse becomes a calm, hands-free meditation of 5, 10 or 15 minutes
• 108 guided meditations, each written for its own verse: a 108-day journey at your own pace
• A warm voice guides you in English, and in Hindi for many of the verses
• A singing bowl opens and closes the sit
• You can't do it wrong, and there are no streaks to keep
• A daily reminder at the time you choose, and today's verse on your home screen
BREATHING, GENTLE YOGA AND WIND DOWN
• Six breathing practices, from a one-minute reset to a slow evening breath, including box breathing, alternate-nostril breathing and humming breath. The count is spoken, so your eyes can stay closed.
• Four gentle yoga sequences of 7 to 11 minutes (neck and shoulders, seated spine, an evening unwind, a resting body practice), shown by a golden figure you can follow
• Wind Down: a 15-minute lying-down session for the end of the day. Slow breathing, a slow rest through the body, then silence. (In English.)
READ THE BHAGAVAD GITA
• All 700 verses across 18 chapters, in Sanskrit, transliteration and a plain-language meaning
• A short daily reading that brings each verse into ordinary life: work, worry, change, rest
• Commentary from several traditions, clearly labelled
• Paths for hard days: when anxiety takes hold, when anger rises, in grief, after failure, when work feels empty, when you can't let go
• Send this line: share a verse's line as a picture card
THE STEADY SUBSCRIPTION (OPTIONAL)
• The practice builder: write a few words about your day, morning or evening, and Steady arranges a meditation, breathing and a reading around them
• Ask about the Gita: a short answer with one verse, whenever a question comes up. It is a short guide to the text. Answers are machine-generated and can be wrong; the verse is always quoted from the Gita itself.
• New subscribers get 7 days free, then a monthly or yearly plan. It renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in Google Play.
• Everything else stays free: the daily meditation, breathing, yoga, Wind Down, the reading and every verse.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
The app and every verse appear in 18 languages: English, हिन्दी, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Русский, 中文, 日本語, 한국어, العربية, தமிழ், తెలుగు, বাংলা, मराठी, ગુજરાતી, മലയാളം, Bahasa Indonesia.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account needed. Your practice and what you write stay on your phone. A question you ask about the Gita is sent only to prepare the answer, and is not kept.
A NOTE
Some commentary is a machine-written synthesis, labelled as such; the verses themselves are canonical. Steady is a practice for reflection, not medical, psychological or crisis care. It is free to use, and if it helps you, you can leave an optional gift.
