About Chinese for Travel
Tell us when you fly and how much time you have each day, and you get a day-by-day plan that ends on your departure date. The home screen always shows today's lesson and how ready you are for the trip.
Start with the free Mandarin Basics unit: greetings and lifesavers like "I don't understand" and "please speak more slowly", the four tones, numbers and prices, time and dates, handy sentence patterns you can reuse anywhere, and the signs you will see every day.
Then follow the learning path in the order your trip happens: arriving and immigration, SIM card and internet, mobile payment with Alipay and WeChat Pay, taxis and ride-hailing, the metro, hotel check-in, ordering food and explaining allergies, shopping and returns, attraction tickets, and getting help in an emergency.
Every lesson follows the same four steps. Learn the phrases with Chinese characters, pinyin, the meaning in your language and clear Mandarin audio. Listen to what locals say back and pick what it means. Speak your part in a role play and get a speaking score. Then mark the lesson complete and keep it fresh with spaced review.
Short drills train the sounds beginners mishear most: tell the four tones apart, and catch prices like 14 and 40 before you pay.
On the road, the Phrasebook keeps everything you learned searchable. Show a big card to a local and let them tap a reply, follow step-by-step task guides, or open Emergency mode to find the right phrase fast and call 110 or 120 with one tap.
Free: the whole Mandarin Basics unit, the first lesson of every situation, all emergency lessons, the listening drills and the phrasebook tools, with ads. Premium unlocks every lesson in the path, unlimited role play with speaking scores, all Mandarin voices, cultural notes and an ad-free experience.
Weekly and yearly Premium plans renew automatically until you cancel; manage or cancel them anytime in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Eligible new subscribers may be offered a free trial. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
No account is required. Microphone access is used only for speaking practice when you choose to use it.
