About Dead Pixel Test
See a suspicious dot on your screen? Dead Pixel Test helps you check for dead or stuck pixels with clean, full-screen colors, gray tones and gradients. Look closely, compare patterns and spot points that stay different as the background changes.
CHECK YOUR SCREEN, ONE PATTERN AT A TIME
Choose from 17 display test patterns: white, black, red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow, seven gray levels from 5% to 95%, plus grayscale and RGB gradients. Use solid colors to look for unusual dots and gradients to examine visible banding or uneven areas.
GO AT YOUR OWN PACE
Start a manual screen test and tap or swipe between patterns. Hold to open controls, jump to a color using the palette, or hide the controls for a clear view. Select the patterns you want before starting.
LET THE COLORS ADVANCE
Use the automatic sequence with a slow interval of 3 to 10 seconds per pattern. Pause, resume or restart whenever you need more time to inspect a spot.
MAKE THE VIEW COMFORTABLE
Keep system brightness or choose temporary brightness for the test. On Android, this affects only the app window and is restored when the test ends or the app goes into the background. Test in portrait or landscape, with a session orientation choice where your device allows it. The screen stays awake while testing, and reduced motion is available.
RECORD WHAT YOU NOTICED
See how many selected patterns were displayed and choose your own observation: No visible issues, Possible spot, Uneven area or Not sure. Add an optional temporary note, then repeat the test if needed. Your test preferences are saved on your device; observations and notes are discarded when you leave the summary.
A VISUAL CHECK
You inspect the physical screen yourself. The app does not automatically detect or repair pixels, fix burn-in or certify display health. A screenshot cannot reveal a physical panel defect. Full-screen coverage and orientation depend on your device and operating system; camera cutouts and reserved system areas cannot be tested.
Open the guide, choose your colors and take a closer look at your display.
