Appcognito: Site & App Blocker

📱 Appcognito: App Blocker, Site Blocker & Focus App

Take back your time. Block distracting apps, restrict websites, and reduce screen time with the ultimate privacy-first app blocker. Zero ads. No account required. No tracking.

Scrolling endlessly instead of working? Appcognito is the premium app blocker and website blocker designed to help you regain focus, manage ADHD, and boost productivity. Unlike other focus apps, your data stays strictly on your device. Your block lists, focus history, and screen time tracking are never uploaded and never sold.

There is no single right way to beat a distraction, so Appcognito gives you four powerful modes:

⚡ QUICK BLOCK: INSTANT DISTRACTION BLOCKER
Stop distractions instantly. Block a game, a browser tab, or a social feed with a single tap. Unblock when you're done. No menus, no hassle. The perfect app and site blocker for the moment.

⏳ FOCUS MODE: DEEP WORK & STUDY TIMER
Lock in your focus. Set a timer, choose your distractions, and block apps and websites until the session ends.
• Strict Lock: Prevent yourself from bailing early.
• Accountability Lock: Hand the unblock key to a parent or partner.
Perfect for ADHD focus, exam prep, writing, and deep work.

🤖 SMART AUTOMATION: AUTO-BLOCKING
Let your phone do the heavy lifting. Block apps automatically based on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, your location, or time of day.
• Screen Time Breaks: Auto-block apps after a set usage limit. A gentle way to cut screen time.
• Off-Topic Guardian (AI): Input your study topic. If you drift to distracting sites, our AI gently nudges you back. (Runs securely via your own OpenRouter key).

📂 CUSTOM PROFILES: ONE-TAP BLOCKING
Group your biggest distractions together. Create instant block lists for Social Media, Gaming, Short-Form Video, or Shopping. (Pro unlocks unlimited profiles).

🔥 MORE TOOLS TO BEAT PROCRASTINATION
• Website Blocker: Block specific URLs or entire categories.
• Keyword Blocking: Stop distracting triggers before they even load.
• Mindful Unblock Gate: Stop impulse quitting with a mandatory breathing exercise or mini-game before you can unblock an app.
• Uninstall Protection & Biometric Lock: Secure your blocking rules.
• Private Focus Stats: Analyze your digital wellbeing locally.

🛡️ 100% PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Most app blockers want an account or secretly track you. We don't. The only exception is the optional Off-Topic Guardian, which checks your study topic using AI on your own personal OpenRouter key. Everything else lives solely on your phone.

💎 FREE vs. PRO
All 4 core blocking modes are completely free with NO time limits and NO ads. Pro adds unlimited profiles, accountability partner locks, and uninstall protection.

👪 WHO NEEDS THIS?
Students studying for exams, professionals needing deep work, adults managing ADHD, and parents seeking accountability (not surveillance). Anyone tired of blockers that cost more and track more.

🔒 PERMISSIONS (ONLY WHAT YOU ENABLE):
Appcognito uses permissions purely for functionality—never for ads or tracking:
• VPN Service (BIND_VPN_SERVICE): Creates a local, on-device VPN to block apps and websites. No traffic ever leaves your phone.
• Accessibility (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): Optional. Used only to detect blocked keywords and power the Off-Topic Guardian.
• Device Admin (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): Optional. Enables uninstall protection during an active block.
• Background Location: Optional. Used strictly for location-based automation while the app is closed. Never collected or shared.
• Other standard permissions: Usage access, installed apps list, Bluetooth, camera (for partner QR), and notifications are used strictly for their matching features.
No personal data is collected or shared. Everything stays on your device.
