Tempora: Italia nel Tempo

What did your current location look like decades—or centuries—ago?

Tempora transforms the map into a timeline. Tap a point or search for a city to traverse the Italian landscape from 19th-century land registry records to 20th-century aerial photos, all the way to modern land cover.

• SCROLL THROUGH TIME
Compare available stops from 1820, 1954, 1990, and today. In Tuscany, you'll find the Leopoldino Land Registry and historical orthophotos; the history of land cover extends throughout Italy.

• FLY OVER THE PAST
Start a narrated flight over your chosen location. The camera follows a fluid choreography as Tempora narrates what you're observing.

• DISCOVER WHAT HAS CHANGED
Read the CORINE classification and see how cities, countryside, forests, and coastlines have transformed.

• LISTEN TO NEARBY STORIES
Find nearby monuments and historic sites, with voice narration and links to sources.

• SOURCES ALWAYS VISIBLE
Each map and content maintains source attribution. Artistic illustrations are clearly indicated and are not presented as photographs.

Tempora does not require an account, contains no advertising, and does not use tracking SDKs.
