About Basics Course for Motion by ma

Apple's Motion is an amazing tool for enhancing any video production. Often overlooked, it's a very deep and flexible program with lots of creative possibilities, but it can be difficult to know where to begin when learning it. This course is the best way to master all the essential skills you need to integrate Motion into your workflow.

First, you get a tour of Motion's user interface and all its different panels, like the Library and the Inspector. You learn to create a new Motion project and how to choose the right settings for your projects. Then, you discover different ways to import elements (photo, video, audio and even Photoshop files), and how to edit their properties in the inspector. The concepts of Masking, grouping and blending are also covered in great details.

After learning the basics, you're ready to dive into the fun part... animation! Iain explains the different ways to animate with Motion, from using keyframes and behaviors to triggering Motion with audio. You also learn about the many uses of replicators and particle emitters. Once you're ready to get your work out of Motion, you learn to export it into a movie for use into any editing program, export it as a Generator with Drop Zones for use with Final Cut Pro.
