Customize Shake Detection

Adjust Shake To Switch to work the way you prefer.

You can customize:

Shake sensitivity
1, 2, or 3 required shakes
Action cooldown time
Selected shake action

Higher or lower sensitivity can help you find the right balance between quick activation and avoiding accidental triggers.

Cycle Between Multiple Apps

Create your own list of apps and use the Cycle between apps option to move through them using repeated shakes.

For example:

Shake → Open App 1
Shake again → Open App 2
Shake again → Continue through your selected apps

This makes it convenient to move between frequently used apps without repeatedly returning to the home screen.

Background Shake Detection

When enabled, Shake To Switch uses a foreground service so it can continue detecting shake gestures while you use your phone.

Android may display a persistent notification while shake detection is active. This helps keep the feature running reliably and lets you know that shake detection is currently enabled.

You can disable shake detection at any time from the app.

Automatic App Opening

For supported actions, you may optionally allow Display over other apps permission so Shake To Switch can open your selected app automatically while running in the background.

If you do not enable this permission, the app can instead provide a notification that you can tap to continue.

Next Reel or Short — AccessibilityService API

The optional Next reel or short action uses Android’s AccessibilityService API. When shake detection is enabled, a recognized shake performs one upward swipe in the app currently on your screen, including while Shake To Switch is in the background.

The accessibility service uses gesture control only. It does not read screen text or access screen content, and does not collect, store, or share screen content or accessibility event data. Access is optional and requires your consent. Other shake actions work without it. You can disable Shake swipe control anytime in Android Accessibility settings.
