"Is it OK to go outside right now?"

Open the weather app, scroll to the bottom, find the UV index among the other items.
UV neko was made to remove that one extra step.

Open it, and the UV index for where you are appears as a number and a cat's face.


■ The strength, on a cat's face

The UV index is split into five levels (Low / Moderate / High / Very high / Extreme),
each with a different cat. You don't have to read the number; the face tells you.

You can show the sun and the moon instead of the cat. Switch anytime in Settings.


■ The hours ahead, at a glance

- Today and tomorrow on one chart. Scroll sideways and they run continuously
- Where "now" sits, and how the bars move from here
- At night: "Rising again tomorrow around 6 AM"

Before you hang the laundry. Before the park. When you decide on a reapply time.


■ The screen follows the weather

Clear, cloudy, rain and snow each change the background and the decoration.
At night, the cat sleeps.


■ A rough guide for time outdoors

Hold the inside of your forearm next to the screen, pick the closest skin tone,
and the app shows a rough guide for the current UV index. It is a general guide,
not a prediction of when you will burn.


■ Saved place

See the UV index somewhere other than where you are - a trip, or family (one place).

■ About the data

The UV index is forecast data from Apple Weather. The coordinates of your location
are used only to request the UV data.

UV neko shows a forecast. It is not a measuring device. The actual amount of
ultraviolet light changes with the weather, altitude and reflection from the ground.
