Kundli Milan: Guna Matching

Enter the date, time and place of birth of the boy and the girl, and Kundli Milan shows how their kundlis match by ashtakoot guna milan, also called kundli matching, horoscope matching or marriage matching: the score out of 36 gunas, what that score means by the traditional rule, and the points of each of the eight kootas.

THE EIGHT KOOTAS, ONE BY ONE
Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi each get their own row with the points earned. When a Nadi dosha or a Bhakoot dosha applies, the app says so in plain words. When a classical exception cancels it, the app names the exception and the points it gives back. A short section explains what each koota looks at.

MANGLIK CHECK FOR BOTH
The app checks manglik dosha for each person by one stated rule: Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house counted from the Lagna, the Moon or Venus. It shows which of the three points found it, any classical cancellation in that chart, and the classical pair rule: when both partners are Manglik, the dosha is considered balanced for the match. No remedies are suggested.

WHERE THE RULES COME FROM
The eight kootas and the 36 gunas follow Muhurta Chintamani, Vivaha Prakarana, the usual classical source for kundli milan. The Moon positions and charts are computed by the Kundlit engine with the Swiss Ephemeris and the Lahiri ayanamsa. Schools differ in small details, such as some point tables.

GUIDANCE, NOT A DECISION
Gun milan is one part of matching; astrologers also read both full charts. The result is guidance from the classical rules, not a decision about a marriage.

YOUR DETAILS
Names stay on your phone and are never sent. Birth date, time and place are sent to kundlit.com only to compute the match. Recent matches are kept on this phone only, are not backed up, and can be deleted one by one or all at once. No account, no ads and no purchases.

SHARE THE SCORE
Share a card with the score and the points of the eight kootas. Names appear on it only if you switch them on. Birth details and manglik status are never on the card.
