Aaj Ka Panchang & Rahu Kaal

Aaj Ka Panchang shows the Hindu panchang (also called panchangam) for your city: tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vara, each with the time it ends, and the day's Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika and Abhijit muhurat.

ANY DATE, NOT ONLY TODAY
Step to yesterday or tomorrow, or pick any date in the past year or the coming year, and see that day's panchang for your city. Useful when you plan a puja, a fast or a journey around the tithi and the day's timings.

WHAT IS RUNNING RIGHT NOW
The first screen tells you what is running at this moment: Rahu Kaal (Rahu kalam), Yamaganda or Gulika with the minutes left, Abhijit muhurat, or the current choghadiya and whether it is a good, neutral or avoid period. Before sunrise it follows the Hindu day, which runs from sunrise to sunrise, so you see the previous day's night choghadiya.

RAHU KAAL ALERT
Turn on the Rahu Kaal alert and get a note in the hour before Rahu Kaal starts, with its start and end time for your city. A morning notification with the day's tithi and Rahu Kaal is there too. Both stay off until you turn them on.

CHOGHADIYA AND HORA
The full choghadiya for the day and the night, on a dial and in a table, so the shubh and ashubh periods are easy to see. The hora table lists all 24 horas from sunrise to the next sunrise with the planet that rules each one, and marks the hora running now. Brahma muhurta, godhuli muhurta, sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset are listed as well.

FESTIVALS AND VRATS
The coming festivals, ekadashi, purnima and amavasya for your city, with their Hindi names. Tap one to open the panchang of that day, like a Hindu calendar you can step through.

HOME-SCREEN WIDGET
Keep today's tithi, nakshatra and Rahu Kaal on your home screen. The widget moves to the new day by itself after midnight.

YOUR CITY AND ITS OWN TIME
Search any city or choose one of the popular Indian cities. Times are always the city's local time; when your phone is set to another time zone, the app says so. Recently opened days are kept on the phone, so the panchang, the widget and the alerts keep working without internet for those days.

HINDI AND ENGLISH
Use the app in Hindi or English. In Hindi, times are shown in 24-hour format.

HOW IT IS CALCULATED
The panchang is computed by Kundlit with Swiss Ephemeris and Lahiri ayanamsa for the sunrise and sunset of the city you choose. Some traditions do not use Abhijit muhurat on Wednesday, and the app notes this on Wednesdays.

No account and no ads. The city you choose is sent to kundlit.com only to compute the panchang.
