PDF Tools: Merge, Sign, Split

PDF Tools does everyday PDF jobs on your phone, without sending your files anywhere.

It never asks for access to all your files. You pick a document, or open one straight from your file manager or a chat with "Open with" and "Share", and PDF Tools works on that file only. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

• Print — through Android's own print service
• Extract text — reads the text layer, and uses on-device OCR when the page is a scan

Protect
• Sign — draw your signature once, then place it anywhere on the page
• Password — add a password, or remove one you already know
• Watermark — text or image, at the opacity you choose

Works with your other apps: open a PDF from your file manager or an email with "Open with → PDF Tools", or share PDFs and photos to PDF Tools and choose what to do with them.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

No watermark on anything you make. Not in Pro, not in the free version either.

HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS

• Read aloud uses the text-to-speech engine on your phone. Scanned pages have no text to read; the app tells you so and points you to Extract text.
• Highlights are drawn as boxes you drag over the text; they do not snap to individual letters.
• Extract text gives you the text. It does not yet produce a searchable PDF.
• The OCR model is built into the app, which is why it works offline and why the app is larger than a plain viewer.
• Scan uses the document scanner in Google Play services; it may be downloaded the first time you use it. The app itself asks for no camera permission.
• "Remove password" means removing a password you already know from your own file. The app cannot open a document without its password.

PRIVACY

Your PDFs are processed on your device. They are not collected, uploaded or shared. The app shows ads, and ads need a connection — the PDF work itself does not. In the EU and UK you can change your ad privacy choices in Settings.
