Measure your ferritin level in just 15 minutes - turn your smartphone into a lab
Measure your blood ferritin level in just 15 minutes! The kiweno ferritin rapid test - the most innovative solution to measure your ferritin level by yourself!
kiweno Ferritin rapid test
Our innovative Ferritin rapid test is used for the quantitative immunological determination of the iron storage protein ferritin in capillary blood and gives you exact results within a few minutes. The manual test system consists of an antibody-based strip test, a so-called lateral flow test, including a smartphone app developed for its evaluation.
The kiweno Ferritin app guides you step-by-step through the entire testing process: Your blood sample is collected using a specific sampling system and then applied to the test cassette. Now the timer is started. After 30 seconds a signal sounds and 1 drop of the running buffer is placed on the sample application window (S) of the rapid test. Ferritin present on the test strip reacts with gold-labeled anti-ferritin antibodies and becomes visible as a reddish test band after 15 minutes at the latest. Using the kiweno Ferritin app, the quantitative result is then evaluated based on the color intensity of the control and test bands.
Attention: The app only works together with the kiweno Ferritin rapid test (available on kiweno.com/shop). We are working on certifying all common smartphones for the test procedure - therefore, not all devices may be supported yet. You can find the already supported smartphone models and operating systems as well as further information at kiweno.com/ferritin-rapidtest. If your smartphone is not yet listed, you can qualify it for the test using the camera test card (CARD).
WHY MEASURE FERRITIN?
The ferritin content in the blood provides information about the degree of filling of the iron stores and can indicate an oversupply or undersupply. Ferritin is the best marker to detect iron deficiency at an early stage. Regular monitoring of ferritin status is especially recommended for individuals who are susceptible to iron deficiency or excess. This includes vegans/vegetarians, people with celiac disease, Crohn's disease, iron storage disease or liver disease, women with heavy menstrual periods, pregnant women, and regular blood donors or athletes. A check of the iron status is also recommended in the case of symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, reduced ability to perform and concentrate, headaches, paleness or weight loss. Ferritin levels may be elevated in cases of acute or chronic inflammation in the body or chronic liver disease. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, iron requirements are increased.
By checking your ferritin level regularly, you can give your body what it really needs. The kiweno Ferritin rapid test shows you in only 15 minutes how well you are supplied with ferritin.
