About Lend Mode
Lend Mode helps you temporarily hand someone your unlocked Android phone for
one selected app.
Choose the app they need, confirm Lend Mode, and hand over your phone. If they
open Home, Recents, Settings, or another app, Lend Mode invokes your normal
secure lock screen. Only someone who can unlock the device can continue or end
the session.
USE IT IN SECONDS
• Choose an installed app
• Optionally set a 5, 15, or 30 minute limit
• Confirm Start Lend Mode
• Hand over your phone
• Unlock and authenticate when you want to stop
DESIGNED FOR PRIVACY
• No account or cloud service
• No advertising or analytics
• No usage-history storage
• No reading of messages, app contents, phone numbers, Contacts data, or call
logs
• Monitoring runs only during an active lending session
• Protection health is checked continuously while lending
PHONE-FRIENDLY PROTECTION
Lend Mode supports the device's Phone and Contacts surfaces. Legitimate
incoming and active calls can remain usable without broadly allowing the
dialer outside a real call.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
Lend Mode protects against casual snooping; it is not Android kiosk mode, a
separate user profile, or protection against someone who knows your device
credential. Android may briefly show another screen before the device locks.
System panels such as the notification shade may remain visible.
A PIN, pattern, or password, Usage Access, Device Administrator permission,
and—on phones—Phone state access are required. Each permission is used only
for the protection described in the app.
