About Gravity – Minimal Notes
Gravity is a minimal notes app for quick notes. Every note goes into one stream with the newest on top, and older notes sink as you write more. When an old one still matters, swipe it right and it comes back to the top. There are no folders to file anything into.
It's based on Andrej Karpathy's append-and-review note: keep one running list, read back through it now and then, and move up whatever you still care about. It suits ideas, to-do lists, reading lists and notes to self.
Quick notes
Gravity opens with the cursor in the notepad at the top of the stream. Type a note and press Enter twice, or tap the add button. Anything half-written stays as a draft until you come back to it.
Rescue, archive or delete
Swipe right on a note to rescue it. Swipe left to archive, delete, share or copy. Archived notes have their own page, and deleted notes stay in Deleted Notes until you restore them or clear them out.
Markdown notes and checklists
Headings, bold, italics, lists, links and quotes show formatted in your notes. Start a line with "- [ ]" to make a checklist, then tick it off from the stream. The editor formats Markdown as you type and has buttons for headings, bold, lists and checklists. Everything is saved as plain Markdown text.
Tags without a tag manager
Start a note with todo:, idea:, read: or any word and a colon, and it gets its own colour. Search for todo: to see only your to-do notes.
Offline search
Search every note on your phone, archived ones included, without an internet connection. Search matches parts of words and ignores accents.
Home screen widget and sharing
The Gravity widget starts a new note or pastes in what you last copied. Share text or a link from any app and it becomes a new note at the top.
Private and offline
Your notes stay on your phone. Gravity has no accounts and no analytics, and it collects no data. You can export everything as JSON or Markdown, or turn on automatic backups to a folder you choose. The iPhone and Mac versions sync through iCloud, which isn't available on Android.
Themes and text size
Pick light, dark or OLED black, or follow the system, and choose from three text sizes. The stats page is worked out on your phone, of course.
Price
Gravity is a one-time purchase. There's no subscription, no in-app purchases and no ads.

User reviews
I was diagnosed with my alphabet soup later in life and I tried systems before and since, but Gravity feels like the best system so far. I use it to get ideas out and other systems for more in depth thinking. Gravity is all it needs to be, so it isn't overwhelming and does very well what it intends to do.
find finally the app thar I always dream thanks 🙏
great for this form of note taking, single note, review, everything you note down is here and can be bumped to the top when required 👍
Simple interface hides some great features in this one of a kind app. Focusing on creating a stream of notes is quite different but very effective and useful. Developer is very responsive and helpful.
Fantastic Quick Note taking App!... just Jot down your ideas and they are automatically saved. You can re order them by sliding right to move them to the top. Delete or archive by sliding left. Great job!... very satisfied*
great design. super fast and simple. do you consider the web/windows version and sync across devices?
