About Rhythm Reading Trainer

Read rhythms, tap them, see exactly where you were off.

Rhythm Reading Trainer shows a rhythm in real music notation, gives you one bar of count-in clicks and listens to your taps. Then every note is judged on its own: on time, early, late or missed, with the offset in milliseconds under each note and every extra tap marked. For music students, solfège and conservatory exams, choirs, drummers and anyone who wants to read rhythms with confidence.

REAL NOTATION
• A clean one-line rhythm staff drawn for the screen: stems, flags, beams grouped by beat, dots, ties, rests and triplets.
• A cursor follows the music while you tap.
• Readable on small phones: long exercises wrap to a new line.

12 PROGRESSIVE LEVELS
1 Whole and half notes · 2 Quarter notes · 3 Rests · 4 Eighth notes · 5 Dotted notes · 6 Syncopation and ties · 7 Sixteenth notes · 8 Triplets · 9 Mixed rhythms · 10 Compound meters (6/8, 9/8, 12/8) · 11 Odd meters (5/4, 7/8, 5/8) · 12 Master mix.
Each level starts with hand-picked exercises, then a generator writes new rhythms that always fit the bar and follow correct beaming, so you never run out of material and never memorise the answer.

PRECISE FEEDBACK
• Every note coloured: on time, early, late or missed (with icons too, not only colour).
• Offset in ms under each note, extra taps marked on the staff.
• Score from 0 to 100 and up to three stars.
• Retry, next rhythm, or listen to the correct rhythm.

FAIR TIMING
• Tolerance that tightens with the level: ±80 ms, then ±50 ms, then ±30 ms. Relaxed and strict modes in settings.
• Latency calibration: tap along with the clicks once, and the delay of your phone's audio and touch screen is compensated.
• Clicks are rendered sample-accurately, not with timers.

YOUR PRACTICE
• Tempo from 40 to 180 BPM.
• Metronome click while tapping: on or off.
• Listen to the rhythm first, if you like.
• 1, 2 or 4 bars per exercise (4 bars = sight-reading).
• Stars and best score for every level. The next level is suggested when you are ready, but every level is always open.
