About Metal Detector: Magnetic Scan
Metal Detector uses your phone's built-in magnetic field sensor (magnetometer) to find nearby magnetic metal such as iron and steel.
HOW IT WORKS
• Tap the glowing dial to start a scan, then move the top edge of the phone slowly near an object.
• The gauge shows the magnetic field in microtesla (µT) and how much it changes.
• Sound and vibration get faster as the field changes more.
• Pick Low, Normal or High sensitivity to suit your phone.
• Tap "Calibrate here" to reset the baseline at your current spot.
• Tap the dial again to stop and see the peak reading, then scan again from another spot to compare.
GOOD TO KNOW
• It reacts to magnetic metals like iron, steel, nickel and magnets. It cannot detect gold, silver, copper or aluminium.
• Detection range is a few centimetres and depends on your phone's sensor.
• Keep the phone away from magnetic cases and electronics for best results.
Works offline. Needs a phone with a magnetic sensor.
