About HikePace: Uphill Hiking Pace

A running app's min/km pace doesn't understand climbs. On steep trails, it just keeps telling you you're "slow."
HikePace measures pace in "effort distance," treating every 100 m of ascent as 1 km of flat ground, so you know whether you're really ahead or behind, even on the uphill. It also tells you when to turn back so you're down before sunset.

■ Effort distance pace
• Pace based on effort distance that factors in ascent and descent (min/effort km)
• Current pace, average pace and the required pace to hit your target, all on one screen
• Horizontal distance, total ascent and descent, current and max altitude, moving time and rest time
• On devices with a barometer, altitude is measured more precisely using barometric data

■ Planned hikes: ahead or behind in real time
• Enter distance, ascent, descent and target time, and your plan is ready
• See at a glance how many minutes ahead of or behind plan you are
• Supports both round trips and one-way or traverse hikes
• Or skip the plan and head out right away with a free hike

■ Turn back before sunset
• Calculates sunset for your current location, no internet needed
• Adds the descent time at your current pace and tells you your "turnaround time"
• Voice and vibration alerts 30 minutes before turnaround and once it has passed
• For one-way hikes, compares your estimated arrival time with your margin before sunset

■ Voice alerts, no screen needed
• Every effort km, hear your elapsed time, pace and how you're doing against plan
• Choose voice + vibration, vibration only, or off
• Get alerted if the GPS signal is lost for too long

■ Hike history and summaries
• After each hike, see total time, moving and rest time, effort distance, average pace, ascent and descent at a glance
• Elevation profile chart and splits per effort km
• Monthly history with this month's hike count, total ascent and total effort distance

■ Built for the outdoors
• Outdoor high contrast mode (white background, black numbers) that stays readable in bright sunlight
• Keeps the screen on while you view the live screen
• Light, dark and system themes
• Daily hike reminder at a time you choose

■ HikePace Pro (buy once, no subscription)
• Remove all ads
• Import GPX route files to build plans with distance, ascent and elevation profile
• Export and share your hikes as GPX

■ Permissions and privacy
• Precise location: used for distance, altitude and sunset calculations. Recording only runs when you start it in the app, and we never ask for background location access.
• Notifications: used for recording status, turnaround alerts and daily hike reminders.
• Your hike records are stored on your device.

※ HikePace is not a navigation app, and all predictions are estimates only. Always consider weather, fitness and sunset, and hike safely.
