About Tap & Pay

Tap & Pay is a point-of-sale app for merchants and their staff. Take card payments in person, then review whether they completed, stayed pending, or failed.

This app is for authorized merchant accounts. It is not a consumer wallet, personal banking app, or shopping app.

HOW IT WORKS

Sign in with your merchant account, enter the amount and currency, and add card details in the app. You can:

• Tap a contactless card on a compatible Android device with NFC
• Scan the card with the camera
• Type the details manually

Tap & Pay sends the checkout to the payment API. If the card requires 3-D Secure, a verification page opens in the app. Otherwise you go straight to the payment status screen.

CAMERA AND NFC

Camera access is used only to read payment card details for checkout. Text recognition runs on the device. Scanned photos are not saved to your gallery.

NFC is used on supported Android devices to read contactless card data for a payment. It is not used in the background. If NFC is unavailable, scan with the camera or enter details manually.

PAYMENTS

Card details and related payment data are sent to your payment processor to complete the charge. Settlement, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and payouts follow your merchant agreement with that processor. Status in the app is what the payment service reported — it is not a guarantee that funds have settled.

WHO IT IS FOR

Tap & Pay is for merchants and staff who already have a merchant account. You need an internet connection to sign in and process payments.
