About Unerased: SD Card File Restore

Deleted photos from your camera's SD card? Formatted a USB stick by mistake? Unerased looks for deleted files on the memory cards and USB drives you plug into your phone, and shows you exactly what it can get back before you pay anything.

It works on external media only: SD and microSD cards in a USB card reader, and USB flash drives over an OTG adapter. It cannot recover files from your phone's internal storage. No app can do that without root, and we'd rather tell you now than after you've paid.

HOW IT WORKS
• Plug in the card reader or USB drive and pick it in the app.
• Unerased opens it read-only. Nothing is ever written to the drive you are recovering from.
• Undelete comes first: on FAT32, exFAT and NTFS drives (and older FAT16 and FAT12 ones) it reads the file system's own records of deleted files, so files usually keep their original names and folders.
• Then a deeper, best-effort search scans the free space for photos (including HEIC and camera RAW), videos, audio recordings, music and PDFs, even after a quick format.
• Every result shows a real preview decoded from the recovered data itself, never a cached thumbnail.
• Save the files you want to another place, such as your phone or a different drive. Unerased refuses to save onto the drive you are recovering from.

MORE WAYS TO FIND WHAT YOU LOST
• Recycle bins: files a computer, Mac or phone moved to a hidden recycle bin on the drive are listed apart, with the name and folder the bin recorded.
• Lost volumes: a drive that looks empty or asks to be formatted after its partition table was damaged can still be searched.
• Find text: look for deleted notes, lists and other plain text by a phrase you remember.
• Video repair: a recovered camera video that won't play can sometimes be rebuilt from a healthy clip made by the same camera. It may still not play fully.
• Copy a failing card: read it once into an image file on your phone, then scan the copy.
• Filter results by type and date, and see a short report of what was found and how.

HONEST BY DESIGN
• Each file is labelled intact, partial or unlikely, so you know what to expect before you save it.
• If nothing can be recovered, Unerased says so plainly. No fake results, no padded lists.
• Files that have been overwritten can't be brought back, and fragmented videos often come back damaged. That's a limit of how storage works, not something any app can fix.
• On NTFS, very small files and files Windows compressed or encrypted can't be undeleted by name.
• Tip: stop using the card or drive as soon as you notice the loss. Every new photo or file can overwrite what you are trying to rescue.

YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
• No internet permission: the app cannot send your files anywhere.
• No ads, no tracking, no accounts.
• No broad "all files" storage access. You choose where recovered files are saved.

PRICING
Scanning, previews and your first saved file are free. Saving the rest needs a one-time Pro unlock. No subscription.

WHAT YOU NEED
• Android 10 or newer with USB OTG support
• A USB card reader or OTG adapter for your SD card or USB drive
• A FAT32, exFAT or NTFS drive for undelete. The deeper search also works on other formats.

Available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Malay.

What’s new

Version 1.5.1 · Updated October 30, 2026

• New: the deep search finds Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ZIP files. • A photo stored in two pieces is joined again when the whole photo checks out. • Found photos and videos are named by when they were taken. • Reopen your last scan from the home screen; see results as a grid, large tiles or a list. • A scan keeps its progress if the battery dies, and stops on its own when it's nearly flat. • Six new languages and a new language picker.
