Guitar: Tuner, Chords, Learn

Tune your guitar, play it and learn it, all in one app. The tuner marks the peg to turn, twelve courses take you from your first chord to barre chords, power chords and open tunings, ten drills train your ear, hands and timing, 168 chords come with every finger shown, and a songbook of 47 songs puts them to work.

Then it hands you the instrument. In Simulation the guitar is on your screen: pick a single string, strum across all six, or strum along to a song's chords.

• Tuner: the headstock on screen with the peg to turn marked, and a live needle that never flashes "in tune" early. Eleven tunings, all free: standard, drop D, drop C, half step and whole step down, DADGAD, open G, open D, and the 7-string, 8-string and 12-string guitar
• Learn: twelve courses (96 lessons), from fundamentals and open chords through intermediate and advanced technique, a songs course, and a course for each alternate tuning and for the 7-string and 12-string
• Songbook: 47 songs, folk standards, classic rock, pop and Latin favorites, with a chord mode that lets you strum them in Simulation
• Practice: ten drills: ear training, melodic dictation, fretboard, intervals, chord changes, timing, rhythm, scales, sight reading and strumming, with your time, streak, daily goal and weak spots tracked across all of them
• Chords: 168 chords (12 roots, 14 types), up to three fingerings each, drawn for whichever of the eleven tunings you are in, and Fingering: every grip finger by finger
• Simulation: a guitar you can play, pick one string or strum all six
• Tools: metronome, drone, scales, chord and scale, circle of fifths, capo and transpose, practice recorder, overtones and String Health
• 12 color palettes, light and dark themes, left-handed mode

Free: the tuner with every tuning, the needle and bar meters, Simulation, major, minor, 7th and minor 7th chords, four starter scales, the Guitar Fundamentals course, the first three songs, the first level of every drill, and the metronome, drone, recorder and capo. No ads, no account, no subscription.

Pro is one optional in-app purchase, paid once: the strobe meter, every other chord type, the other eleven courses, the rest of the songbook with chord mode to strum along, every drill level, every scale, chord and scale, the circle of fifths, overtones, String Health and practice insights. Never a subscription, and the tuner is never gated.

It all works offline, and Guitar collects no data: see the Data safety section below.
