CellGuard is an anti-surveillance security app for Android that detects IMSI catchers (fake cell towers / Stingrays), app-based snooping, and stalkerware in real time. All analysis runs on-device — nothing is transmitted, collected, or shared.

HOW IT WORKS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

CellGuard runs continuous cellular detection heuristics alongside real-time AppOps monitoring. When a threat is detected, you get an instant notification with severity level and technical detail.

THREAT LEVELS
🟢 SECURE — No anomalies detected
🟡 LOW — Minor indicator, likely benign
🟠 ELEVATED — Multiple indicators, vigilance warranted
🔴 HIGH — Strong evidence of surveillance
🚨 CRITICAL — Active protocol-level attack confirmed (root mode)

ROOT-ENHANCED MODE (OPTIONAL)

Rooted Qualcomm devices unlock protocol-level detection through the DIAG interface:
• GSM A5/0 (no encryption) detection
• LTE Authentication Reject identification
• Null integrity (EIA0/EEA0) detection
• IMSI Identity Request alerts
• /proc/fd hardware-bypass scanning

Standard (unrooted) devices still get full cellular heuristics, sensor monitoring, and push notifications — root only unlocks deeper analysis.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

CellGuard does NOT:
✗ Collect personal data
✗ Transmit information off your device
✗ Use analytics, ads, or trackers

Every calculation is local. The only off-device connection is the Play Store update check.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS (we believe in honesty)

• Passive IMSI catchers (listen-only) cannot be detected by any software method — physical SDR hardware is required
• Cell heuristics can trigger false positives in rural areas, buildings, or during carrier maintenance
• Encryption verification requires root + Qualcomm chipset
• MediaTek and Exynos chipsets do not support DIAG protocol-level detection
• CellGuard is a detection tool, not a blocker — it alerts you to threats; it cannot prevent them from occurring
