About SafeShare: EXIF Remover

Share the photo, not the private trail.

SafeShare helps you inspect and remove hidden metadata before a photo leaves your phone. Choose photos with the system picker, review what was found, select what to remove, then save or share a newly created copy.

SEE WHAT A PHOTO REVEALS

SafeShare groups findings into clear privacy categories:

• GPS and location data

• Camera, lens and device details

• Capture and edit timestamps

• Software, XMP, IPTC and other metadata

REMOVE AI-RELATED METADATA

EXIF software and editor tags, XMP/IPTC packets, PNG text metadata and creator labels can contain information about AI tools. SafeShare can remove these supported metadata containers from your copies when selected. It does not classify photos as AI-generated. Removing metadata does not remove watermarks embedded in image pixels or guarantee that an AI image will avoid detection.

CLEAN LOCALLY

Selection, inspection, rewriting and verification happen on your device. SafeShare requires no account and does not upload your photos or their metadata. On Android, Google AdMob shows banner and native ads. A preloaded full-screen ad may appear after saving, or on Done in Results after sharing or saving, at most once per 24 hours. AdMob may use your advertising ID and device, network and ad-interaction data. Ads may be personalized. Where the law requires consent, Google's consent form asks you first; elsewhere you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Photos, filenames and metadata are never passed to AdMob. Firebase Crashlytics sends limited technical crash diagnostics so stability problems can be fixed.

KEEP ORIGINALS UNCHANGED

SafeShare works from a task-owned copy. It never opens your selected original for writing. Cleaned files use collision-safe names and are saved or shared only when you ask.

VERIFY THE RESULT

Every completed output is read again and checked against your choices. If requested metadata remains or a preservation check fails, that file is reported as failed instead of being presented as clean.

CONTROL THE OUTPUT

• Clean up to 10 photos per batch, up to 30 MiB each on Android

• Remove location, device identity, timestamps and other metadata separately

• Keep original encoding when a supported metadata-only path is available

• Convert to JPEG, PNG, lossless WebP, TIFF, BMP or GIF when compatible

• Reduce file size with a clear percentage target

• Save verified copies to Photos or open the Android share sheet

Direct metadata workflows support JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, classic TIFF and BMP. On Android, other valid images the phone can decode—including HEIC, HEIF and device-supported AVIF—are converted locally into a safe working copy. Incorrect filename extensions are corrected from verified image bytes. Corrupt files, non-images and formats the phone cannot decode are rejected with an explanation.

CONTENT CREDENTIALS

Content Credential containers follow the cleaning choice you select and can be preserved on compatible metadata-only workflows or removed. SafeShare verifies container-byte preservation or removal; it does not claim to cryptographically validate credential authenticity. On-device fallback conversion does not copy original container metadata or Content Credentials.

Designed for private photo sharing, marketplace listings, social posts, client deliveries and any moment when the image should travel without an unnecessary metadata trail.
