In this book, Imam Al-Suyuti mentions the issues that came to his knowledge of the sciences of the Qur’an, and he made it an introduction to the great interpretation, and included many rules, and limited its content to several matters, which came as follows: The first matter is the places of revelation, its times, and its events, and there are twelve types of it: the Meccan, the Medinan, the Safari, the Urban, and the Night. And the daylight, as well as the reasons for the revelation, the first thing that was revealed, and the last thing that was revealed. He also mentioned the chain of transmission of the Holy Qur’an, which is of six types: frequent, single, irregular, recitations of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, narrators and memorizers. As the Imam mentioned the performance, which are six types: stopping, starting, referring, extending, mitigating, hamza, and assimilation, he also mentioned the words, which are seven types of strange, inflected, metaphorical, common, synonymous, metaphor, and simile, and other matters related to the sciences of the Holy Qur’an, and Al-Suyuti made them eighty chapters, in each chapter a different science.
