About Palabu: Spanish for Kids
Hi, I'm Tinta. I'm an axolotl and I love words.
Here your child learns to write Spanish properly and — this is my favorite part — to really understand what they read.
Menus are in English; lessons, reading texts and the explanations inside each lesson are in Spanish.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Six worlds and 55 topics, from the noun to the main idea of a whole text:
• Words — nouns, verbs, adjectives, gender and number
• Sentences — word order, subject, agreement, connectors
• Spelling — capitals, syllables, accents, b/v, c/s/z, g/j, h, punctuation
• Meaning — synonyms, antonyms, word families, figurative meaning
• Real reading — 54 original texts with their questions
• Writing — from a single sentence to a paragraph
REAL READING, WHICH IS THE HARD PART
The 54 texts were written for this app, one by one, and they are not only there to be decoded: they ask for the main idea, for what the text does not say but implies, for why it was written. There are stories, recipes, news, letters, instructions, timetables and texts that argue a point. Every question is answered with the text in front of you, and the text never leaves the screen.
GETTING IT WRONG IS FINE
Everything I lose grows back, so a mistake here is not a red mark: I explain the rule — not the answer — and that question comes back later on. In the lessons there are no lives running out and no clock rushing you.
FOR WHOEVER PAYS THE BILL
Behind the Parent Zone is the real picture: days in a row, how each world is going, and what they struggle with most.
The first time you open the app you can mark the topics your child needs most — accents, b and v, the main idea — and each daily challenge goes to those topics, along with a review of what they missed. Change them whenever you like in the Parent Zone, under «Topics to work on first».
• No ads. None, on any screen.
• All the content works without a connection: put the phone in airplane mode and play a whole lesson.
• No account, no sign-up. No email, no phone number, no date of birth.
• No microphone, no camera. Both permissions are blocked.
• Nothing a child can buy alone. The purchases — a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime payment — live behind a grown-up gate a child does not cross, and Google Play charges the grown-up's account.
FREE AND WITH THE PLAN
For the first three days, the whole app is open so you can try everything. After that, free forever: the first lesson of each of the 55 topics across the six worlds, today's challenge, one review a day, the little school and the Beat the clock game.
The plan opens everything else: the rest of the lessons in all six worlds —and with them, many more texts to read—, unlimited challenge and review, and two more games. In the app, anything that belongs to the plan wears a crown 👑. It can be a monthly or yearly subscription, which renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play, or a one-time lifetime payment, which never renews.
WHO IT'S FOR
Children aged 6 to 12 who speak Spanish at home or are learning it. The Spanish taught is Latin American, and the c/s/z exercises are built so they cannot be solved by ear.

What’s new
Version 1.0.0 · Updated October 4, 2026
Pick the topics your child finds hardest, like accents or b and v, and today's challenge starts there. You can change them anytime in the Parent Zone. In reading questions, the text stays on screen, in the challenge and in review too. Know another family it could help? You can now recommend it from the Parent Zone. We keep adding content and polishing the app. Thanks for using it.
