About Matibu: Math & Times Tables
No ads, no wifi and nothing your child can buy. From age 6.
When 4 × 3 shows up, Matibu does not ask for the answer and mark it wrong. It builds four
groups of three on the screen and says it out loud: "4 groups of 3 make 12". Division is
sharing into equal parts and seeing how much each gets. Borrowing is a bar of ten that
breaks back into cubes. A fraction is a cake that gets cut and colored in. Every operation
has its explanation with drawings that move, watchable as many times as they like.
WHAT THEY LEARN
28 topics across five islands, from counting to decimals, charts and chance.
• Counting, comparing, number sequences and rounding
• Adding and subtracting, including carrying and borrowing
• Times tables 1 to 10 grouped by their trick, not ten identical lists; plus two-digit
multiplication
• Division, with remainders
• Fractions on four shapes — circle, bar, grid and hexagon — because a child who only
ever sees pizza slices thinks fractions ARE circles
• Shapes: sides, corners, symmetry and perimeter on a grid
• Telling the time, money, and measuring weight and capacity on a balance scale
• Roman numerals
• Bar charts, pictograms, two-way tables and averages
• Chance: what is certain, what is possible and what is impossible
• Word problems, which is where children actually get stuck
NOT A WORKSHEET
A wrong answer never gets a red cross: Capi shows up and walks through the why. They can
try again as often as they like. Nobody loses lives, nobody is locked out.
THIRTEEN GAMES, NOT A QUIZ WITH A TIMER
Beat the Clock, the Builder, Matching, Your Shop, the Roman Empire, the Scales, Combined,
Equations and the Mirror — where you complete the missing half of a picture and find it
was a butterfly. Same math, but they feel like games.
AND IF A TOPIC MAKES NO SENSE, THEY LOOK IT UP
The Little School explains what a topic IS before practising it, for the nine that
introduce something new: Roman numerals, fractions, the clock, chance. With its picture,
nothing to get right. And Endless practice repeats any topic, with no score, no end.
IT ADAPTS, AND BRINGS THEM BACK
Too easy and it moves up. Too hard and it steps back, then returns later to whatever they
got wrong. A session runs about 15 minutes, what works at this age. And a daily challenge,
a short round with its streak, brings them back without you asking.
TO SEE IF IT WORKED
You set a test on the topics you choose and the app keeps the last two side by side. Not
a grade: seeing whether what they studied this week stuck.
FOR YOU, IN THE PARENTS AREA
How much they practiced this week, what they are good at and what is giving them trouble.
You get in with your fingerprint, so your child does not end up there alone. You also pick
the language, turn sounds and music off, turn on the voice that reads the questions out
loud and set a daily reminder. It starts in your phone's language: English, Spanish or
Portuguese, all fully translated.
MORE THAN ONE CHILD
Up to four profiles, each with its own progress, stars and level. One purchase covers the
family.
WHAT IS FREE
A whole island — the Forest of Numbers, twelve lessons with their boss — plus the Tables
with tricks topic. And to see how far it goes, the first lesson of Fractions,
Telling time, Charts and Equations, plus four of the thirteen games. No card, no trial
that expires and no sign-up: what is free is yours for good.
WHAT IT COSTS
The subscription opens every lesson and every game. You see your country's price in the
app before you pay: the yearly plan costs about five months of the monthly one. It is
handled by your Google Play account and cancelled there whenever you want. No other
purchase: no coins, no gems, no packs, nothing your child can tap.
OFFLINE, AND PRIVATE
The content works fully in airplane mode: in the car, on the subway, on a flight. We
collect no data about your child — no name, no email, no location — and progress stays
on the phone.
What’s new
Version 1.5.2 · Updated October 22, 2026
Matibu launched in 2026 and comes complete: 28 topics from 1st to 6th grade and 13 games. New: Matibu is more stable and faster on phones and tablets, works better when you switch to another app and come back, and notices for parents are clearer. Plus, the Parents' Area takes you straight to what you are looking for. Your review helps other families find it. Thanks for choosing Matibu!
