Nimbus

Nimbus is the companion app for a self-built weather station: a small sensor unit that reads temperature, pressure, and humidity and reports back over Wi‑Fi.

WHAT IT DOES

• First-time setup: Nimbus connects to your sensor over Bluetooth, scans for nearby Wi‑Fi networks, and sends it your network credentials — no need to hard-code Wi‑Fi passwords into the device itself.

• Live dashboard: once your station is online, Nimbus shows a dashboard of its latest readings — temperature, pressure, humidity, and battery level — pulled from your account.

• Multiple sensors: claim more than one station to the same account and switch between them from the dashboard.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Nimbus only works with a Nimbus-compatible sensor unit — it won't do anything useful on its own. If you've built (or received) one of these stations, this app is how you connect it to your Wi‑Fi and check in on its readings from your phone.

ACCOUNT REQUIRED

Viewing your data requires a free account, created the first time you set up a sensor. Your readings are tied to your account so only you can see them.

PERMISSIONS

Nimbus requests Bluetooth and location permissions solely to scan for and connect to your sensor during setup — Android requires location permission for BLE scanning even though Nimbus does not use your GPS location.
