# Asphodel — Intentional Screen Time
Asphodel helps you use your apps more intentionally with flexible limits that fit your day. Set daily limits, control how much time you can use within each interval, choose when apps are available, and create different profiles for different routines.
Customize blocking screens to remind yourself why you set a limit in the first place. Your profiles, schedules, and app-usage data stay on your device, and no Asphodel account is required.
Accessibility Service
asphodel uses Android's AccessibilityService API to detect when an app selected in one of your blocking profiles is opened. This allows asphodel to enforce the app limits and blocking rules that you configure. Accessibility access is used only to provide this app-blocking functionality, and the associated app-usage data is processed on your device.
