About Safy Kid
Safy Kids is the companion app to Safy Parent. A parent or guardian installs it on the child's phone, together with the child, and links it to Safy Parent once with a QR code. Safy Kids helps families stay in touch and agree on healthy screen-time habits — openly, never in secret.
WHAT THE APP DOES
• Shares your location with your parents, so they know you got home or to school safely.
• Tells your parents when you arrive at or leave safe zones you agreed on, such as home or school.
• Lets you send an SOS to your parents with a single tap.
• Sends a "pick me up" request when you need a ride.
• Applies the screen time and app limits your parents set. When a limit is reached, a lock screen explains why.
• Lets your parents lock the phone for a while, for example at bedtime. Calls and messages to your parents always stay available.
WORKS OPENLY
• The app icon stays visible on the phone, and a persistent notification is shown while location sharing is on.
• It is set up together with your parent on the device. Every permission is explained on its own screen and requested only after tapping "I agree".
• It does not read your messages, call history, contacts or photos, and it shows no ads.
USE OF THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (AccessibilityService API)
Safy Kids is a parental control app and uses the Android Accessibility Service. The parent turns it on during setup, after an in-app explanation and only after tapping "I agree". The service is used only to:
• detect which app is currently open, so the app blocks and time limits set by your parents can be applied. A lock screen is shown when a blocked app is opened;
• recognise Safy's own protected settings screens (Accessibility, Device admin, "Display over other apps"), which ask for the parent's PIN before they can be changed.
The Accessibility Service does not read, store or send screen content, messages or passwords. It does not record calls and is not used for advertising or analytics. The only related information that leaves the device is the name of a blocked app when it is opened, so your parent can see it in Safy Parent.
OTHER PERMISSIONS AND WHY
• Location, including in the background: to share your location and safe-zone alerts while the app is closed.
• Usage access and the list of installed apps: to show time spent in apps and let your parents choose which apps to limit.
• Display over other apps: to show the device lock and limit screens.
• Device admin: so the app cannot be removed without your parents knowing.
• Notifications: for the persistent notice and important warnings.
• Phone state: to hide Safy's screens during a call, so you can always answer or make calls. Call details are not read.
• Battery and alarms: to keep the app running and restart it quickly if the system stops it.
YOUR DATA
Location, safe-zone events, app usage time and the installed apps list are sent over an encrypted connection only to your linked parent account. They are not sold and not used for advertising. The account can be deleted at any time in Settings → Delete account.
