The main question before heading into the mountains isn't "where's the best?" but "will I make it back before dark?" Sayr answers this question with a number: what time should I leave Tashkent to complete the route and return to the car before dark?

More than a hundred locations across Uzbekistan: waterfalls, peaks, gorges, caves, lakes, plateaus, petroglyphs. Chimgan and Charvak, Pskem, Ugam-Chatkal, Akhangaran, Zaamin, Nurata, Surkhandarya. One-day hikes and overnight trips: for each, there's the length of the route, the elevation gain, the travel time, and the trek itself.

DEPARTURE WINDOW

The app takes the sunset coordinates of the location and subtracts the round-trip travel time, the walking time plus the descent allowance, and your personal time allowance. The resulting time is best left at the earliest possible time. If the window drops below freezing, it means you won't be able to turn around for the day, and this is immediately obvious, not halfway along the trail.

TRACKS

The locations are linked to actual GPS records, not drawn lines: people have walked them. The track is visible on a topographic map with contours, and with one tap it opens as a GPX file—in your navigator, in Organic Maps, or any hiking app.

The trailhead coordinates are shown separately. These aren't the same as the location coordinates: the destination is a peak or a waterfall; you can't drive there. The coordinates are copied with one click and pasted into the navigator.

WORKS WITHOUT ACCESS

Mark your trip—the app pre-compiles an offline set: description, track, photos, and map squares. In a gorge with no reception, everything opens as if nothing had happened. The set automatically erases itself a few days after the trip.

WEATHER AND NEIGHBORHOODS

The forecast is calculated for the coordinates of the location itself, not the nearest town: in the mountains, weather conditions vary. You can also see the wind and temperature at the hour you arrive.

If another destination is located near the route, the app will show it: you can often reach both in one trip.

WHO ELSE IS GOING

Check the date and see how many people are going there that day. No registration, no messaging: just a number.

HONESTLY ABOUT THE NUMBERS

Some routes are marked using a formula, not someone's stopwatch: this data is a guide, not a promise. Weather, trail conditions, and your pace make all the difference. Sayr is not a substitute for preparation: share your route with your loved ones, bring extra water and warm clothing, don't set out on serious routes alone, and turn around if you don't make it before dark.

WHAT THE APP DOESN'T FEATURE

No accounts or registration. No ads. No tracking between apps or data transfer to advertising networks. Geolocation is not requested at all. Favorites and plans are stored on the device.

Tracks and photos are from people who were there, with the authors' names. The catalog is constantly being updated; we'll mention new ones in the update descriptions.
