About Shape Invaders
Shape Invaders is a Bauhaus arcade shooter. Geometric forms descend across the field, and a triangular ship must hold the line.
The Bauhaus reduced visual language to three elements: the square, the circle, the triangle. Shape Invaders puts those elements under pressure. Each shape behaves differently — squares advance, circles arc, triangles fire spread shots. Shape is the rule language.
A run is four workshops, then a generative boss:
— Vorkurs: the foundation. The grammar is introduced.
— Form & Color: the elements interact under pressure.
— Theater: the field choreographs.
— Architecture: the structure tightens.
— Gesamtkunstwerk: the boss. The total work.
Movement is delta-drag; fire is hold-to-tap. No separate aim, dodge, or reload. The danger zone near the top doubles speed and fire rate but lifts the risk in turn — aggressive positioning is rewarded and punished in the same instant.
Mastery is tracked across five ranks — Vorkurs, Lehrling, Geselle, Jungmeister, Meister — based on rolling-window performance.
Nine palettes, drawn from Bauhaus masters who taught at the school, recolor the entire formal system. Each is introduced before its first run.
Part of the Bauhaus Suite — four standalone games, each its own instrument.
Every completed run resolves into an artifact — a designed record of the run, exportable as an image.
