About Mechy: AI Mechanic, DIY Repair
Snap a photo, say the job, and Mechy builds a step-by-step repair guide in 3D. Each step moves the parts you work on, with the parts list, the tools and the safety checks.
Mechy is an AI mechanic and DIY repair guide for cars and trucks, home repairs, small engines and heavy equipment. It's made for DIYers, handymen and field mechanics, and it shows the fix instead of describing it.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Snap the machine or the part. Add up to 6 photos from the camera (it has a torch for dark engine bays) or your library. Screenshots work too.
2. Hold the mic and say what you need to do, or type it. No photo handy? Words alone work.
3. Mechy builds the guide and opens it when it's ready. Take it to the job and work through the steps.
WHAT A GUIDE SHOWS
• A 3D model of the job. Each step lights the parts it works on and moves them: off, on, loosen, lift. Turn the model with a finger and tap any part to see its name.
• Short steps you swipe through: a few words and one line each, with that step's parts and tools.
• The parts list with counts. Copy it in one tap with the sizes, like M8 × 1.25 × 25 mm, grade 8.8. A size read from a photo is marked "check size before buying".
• The tools, with sizes: 19 mm socket, #2 Phillips.
• Safety first, before step 1: lockout, stored hydraulic pressure, blocking, hot parts and lifting, plus when to stop and call a pro or the dealer.
• How hard the job is and about how long it takes.
• Torque and other specs, marked to check against the maker's manual.
WHAT YOU CAN FIX
• Home and DIY repair: leaky faucets, running toilets, sagging doors, loose hinges and shelves. Plumbing and handyman jobs get step-by-step repair instructions, with the parts to buy and the tools to grab before you start.
• Car and truck repair: snap the part or the engine bay, say the job, and get the steps, the parts and the tool sizes.
• Small engines, like lawn mowers.
• Heavy equipment repair: excavators, skid steers, track and wheel loaders, dozers, tractors and haul trucks. Bucket pins and bushings, tracks, hydraulic cylinders and hoses, filters, belts and tires. Every heavy equipment guide opens with lockout before step 1.
WHILE YOU WORK
• Ask Mechy: stuck on a step? Tap the mech head and ask about the step on screen, or pick a suggested question.
• Read aloud: hear a step when your hands are busy.
• Big buttons for gloves, and the screen stays on.
• Send a guide to your crew with a link.
SEARCH FIRST
Ready-made jobs sit on shelves: heavy iron, trucks and cars, small engines, and around the house. Search before you build a new one. If the job has been done, the guide opens straight away.
PLAIN AND HONEST
Steps are short and use the trade's words. Set safety notes for known hazards (lockout, hydraulics, tires, hot parts, mains power) go into every guide that needs them, whatever the AI writes. When Mechy isn't sure of a size, it says so. Specialist work, like multi-piece rims, accumulators and anything under a raised load, is flagged. Mechy won't help bypass a safety device or delete emissions equipment. See a mistake? Report it from the step.
Mechy is a guide. The maker's manual, your training and your site's rules always come first.
PRIVACY
Photos are resized on your phone and their location data is removed before upload. Voice clips are deleted once they're transcribed. No ads. Delete a job with a long press, or delete your account and your guides from the app or at mechy.si/delete-account.
