Highlights: AI Trip Planner

Highlights is an AI trip planner that turns one sentence into a day-by-day travel itinerary. Type "4 days in Rome with friends: pasta, wine, the Vatican and one big night out", or paste a TikTok or Instagram video link, and Sally, your Highlights guide, plans the trip: real places, photos, opening hours, travel times and a map. Making your own trips is free.

PLAN A TRIP IN ONE SENTENCE
• Say it the way you'd tell a friend: where, when, who's coming and what you love.
• Or paste a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube link, a Google Maps list, or your own list of must-dos, and get an itinerary built around them.
• City breaks, multi-city trips and road trips. Each day is paced around opening hours and the walk or drive between stops.
• Every stop is a real place, from things to do to restaurants, with a photo, one line on why it's worth it, opening hours, its Google rating, the website and directions.
• See the typical weather for the month you're going.

CHANGE ANYTHING BY ASKING
• Ask Sally: "Swap the museum for a market", "Add a slow afternoon" or "Is day 2 too much walking?"
• Tap her balloon for quick asks: hidden gems, local food, adventures, tours and guides, or hotels in the area.
• Add her suggestions to any day with one tap.
• Tap Optimize on a day and Highlights puts the stops in a shorter order, then tells you how many minutes of travel it saved.

EVERY DAY ON A MAP, EVEN IN 3D
• Follow each day's route on the map, or see the whole trip in 3D.
• Open directions in Google Maps.

PLAN A GROUP TRIP TOGETHER
• Invite friends with one link and see who's going, who's a maybe and who can't make it. Friends can open it without the app.
• Share any itinerary, from a weekend getaway to a bachelorette weekend, and anyone with the link can save their own copy.

ON THE TRIP
• Today shows your next stop, how long the walk is, and a checklist for the day.
• On trip days, a live trip in your notifications shows today's stops and counts down to the next one.
• Tap Remind me and get a reminder a week and a day before you go.
• Your trips are saved on your phone, photos included, so they open with no signal.

• Tap an idea and Sally plans it: the 2027 total solar eclipse in Luxor, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Christmas in New York, a Nashville bachelorette weekend or cherry blossoms in Japan.
• Browse Explore for upcoming events, weekends with friends, first times in a city and trips from creators.

A PLAN THAT HOLDS UP ON THE DAY
An AI trip planner is only useful if the plan works when you get there. Highlights checks each place, its opening hours and the travel time between stops, so the day you planned is a day you can do.
