QuenvaDormo

An evening of checkmate puzzles in an art deco salon of onyx, champagne and deep teal. Each position holds one forced mate, and each piece is drawn with stepped pedestals and fan crowns.
The cast
• Madame Ottoline, the patient hostess, who checks every line twice.
• Baron Vexley, the quick baron, sharp and restless.
• The Automaton, a cabinet of brass gears that never tires.
Act Ⅰ: The Match
Race a rival over five rounds, first to three. Each round brings one puzzle, from mate in one to mate in three, and the rival has its own solving time. Solve before that time runs out and you finish first. A wrong move costs ten seconds, and hints are limited per match. The rivals open one after another.
Act Ⅱ: Puzzle Rush
Mates in one up to three against the clock, starting with 150 seconds and three lives. A pass costs a life, and the house record is kept.
Interval: The Workshop
Points buy upgrades: extra hints, Longer Rush Clock with twenty more seconds per level, Spare Life and Steady Hand, which trims the penalty for a wrong move.
Act Ⅲ: The Salon
Records of the house: matches played, rounds taken, matches solved, average solve time, the rush record, a bar for each rival and a ledger of recent evenings.
Curtain call
The Gallery holds 12 cameo medallions, from the Pawn Cameo to the Champagne Fan, unlocked by milestones. A slow fan of sunshine turns behind the menus with soft glints, and this animated background can be switched off in Settings, next to haptics and a progress reset. The game plays offline with no account needed.
