Mridangam

Mridangam - Mridanga Laya Vinyasa is a carnatic mridangam sequencer.
Using Pattern Editor, create patterns of specific lengths using mridangam strokes.
In Sequence Editor, many patterns can be added in a timeline to form a mridangam recital of a specific Tala. Sequences support various sub-beats of Carnatic music such as tisra, cahtusra, khanda, misra, sankeerna and chatusra-tisra in 5 speeds(chauka, vilamba, madhyama, durita and ati-durita).

Patterns and sequences are used in Live Pad pages where looper patterns can be played in a loop, filler patterns are used to fill till specific tala points, ending patterns play and end the loop.

The app has a Tala Metronome which is used to visually keep tala along with metronome. Metronome can tick can be Hand claps, Metronome ticks or Basic Mridangam patterns. App has a Tambura as well.

There is a unique Korvai Generator, which generates various types of playable carnatic rhythmic ending patterns for a given tala, number of cycles, and eduppu. You can experiment with generated korvais using pre-loaded phrases and get creative ideas to sequence them in the app or perform on real Mridangam.

The app can be used as an Educational tool. Create playable mridangam practice lessons as sequences (along with spoken words) and share them. Shared sequences can be imported into the app and played to practice along with the app.
