Generous Church Project

The Generous Church Project application provides necessary tools for churches to become fully engaged, multiplying and serving at the center of healthy and vibrant communities. An understanding of generosity within the life of a Christian is derived from an understanding of basic biblical stewardship principles.
When people learn that God owns everything and that people simply manage God’s resources they can then begin to develop the discipline of effective stewardship. This leads people toward greater generosity in all areas of their lives.
The Generous Church Project has been designed by pastors to help pastors instruct their congregations in the biblical principles of generosity. These sermon outlines and Bible studies have been specifically created to help you teach your congregation how to love, give, serve, and live generously. You add the personal stories and examples to make the sermons relevant to your congregation.
The Generous Church Project defines generosity as the attitude and act of being extravagantly selfless. Consider this, the opposite of being generous is being selfish. As followers of Jesus we are called to be selfless. Jesus came and loved, gave, served, and lived not just in a selfless manner, but in the most extravagantly selfless manner. Our goal is that disciples of Jesus Christ would learn to love, give, serve, and live in a most extravagantly selfless manner, thereby being continuously conformed to the image of Jesus Christ himself. And when the Church learns to become generous they become more fully engaged, multiplying and serving at the center of healthy and vibrant communities.
The sermon outlines and Bible studies contained within this app are designed to help you teach your congregation what it means to live extravagantly selfless lives. Each sermon packet has been specifically written to teach one of the four characteristics of generosity; Loving, Giving, Serving, and Living.
It is our prayer that God will use the materials within this app as well as the gifts and abilities that He has given you, the local pastor, to help mold individuals more and more into the image of Jesus Christ Himself. He who so extravagantly selflessly loved us, gave all of Himself for us, leads us in such a humble and selfless manner, and teaches us how to live completely for Him.
We would love to hear your stories of how God used these sermons to challenge your congregation to live extravagant, selfless and generous lives.
