Fill up here, or carry on to that charger up ahead? Prices change from place to place and day to day, and with a hybrid or electric car it is genuinely hard to tell what works out cheaper. CarCharge gives you the answer.

The app simply does the math for you. You tell it how much fuel or battery you have left and where you are heading, and CarCharge shows you what costs the least.

Two ways to compare

The quick comparison works entirely offline. In a few seconds you put the cost of a pump and a charger side by side. Handy when you just want to check what is cheaper, without internet or GPS. It uses your own price history as a guide.

Trip mode brings your location into it. CarCharge finds the stations and chargers nearby, works out the real road distance to each one, and takes your destination and remaining range into account. That way you can see whether topping up early is worth it, or whether driving on is the smarter move. You can compare up to three spots at once and spot the cheapest right away.

More than just the price per litre

The app looks beyond the price per litre or kWh. It also weighs up whether filling up is even necessary for your trip, how far you would have to go out of your way, and keeps a safety margin you can set yourself. So the advice holds up in real life, not just on paper.

Your data stays yours

No account, no ads, no tracking. Everything you enter stays local on your phone. Your location is only used to calculate distances, nothing else.

On top of that, the app is available in Dutch, English, German and French, works with a light and dark mode that follows your system, and keeps a clear history of your fill-ups and charging sessions.
