Navistep

Navistep is the companion app for the Navistep unit installed on your boat.

It provides easy access to the Navistep system’s key functions from your smartphone, whether you are connected directly to the unit via its Wi-Fi network or using Navistep services over the Internet.

With Navistep, you can:

configure and view your boat's tracking;

visualize your route and the latest recorded positions;

access the unit's alarm functions;

view NMEA instrument data and wind information (where supported by your Navistep equipment);

view tracking data and positions for other boats in the Navistep community;

view community stopovers and associated details;

access active alarms remotely (where this feature is available);

use the Navistep chat service;

access Navistep help and information directly.

Connecting to the Navistep unit

When your phone connects to the Navistep unit's Wi-Fi hotspot, the app automatically detects the unit and enables access to its local functions.

The app communicates directly with the onboard unit, requiring no Internet connection for local functions.

If the unit also has Internet access, Navistep Internet services remain accessible via the app. However, display speeds may be slower when the Internet connection is routed through the Navistep Wi-Fi hotspot.

Using the app without the unit

Navistep can also be launched without being connected to a unit.

Demo pages allow you to explore the main tracking, alarm, and NMEA instrument functions.

Navistep Community

The app allows you to view information shared by Navistep users, including the latest positions, routes, voyages, and available stopovers.

The Navistep interface is available in:

Privacy

Navistep does not integrate an advertising network and does not use personal data for targeted advertising purposes.

Certain Internet functions may use a Navistep identifier and, for the chat service, the email address associated with the device.

Important
Navistep is a supplementary tool designed for users of the Navistep system. It does not replace the mandatory navigation, safety, or monitoring equipment required on board a vessel.
