About bandcue

Bandcue is a chord sheet that scrolls itself, so you can keep both hands on the instrument.

Put a song in, tell it how long the song runs, and the words go past at the speed you are playing. No page turns, and no thumb on the glass in the middle of a verse.

THE SHEET
- Chords sit over the words they fall on, the way a chord sheet is written
- Autoscroll timed to the song, with a count-in before it starts
- Stage theme: black page, amber chords, readable at two metres
- Pinch to resize. Hide the chords if you are singing; hide the notes if you are not
- Transpose by semitone, and a capo that moves the shapes without moving the song
- Tap a chord to see how it is fingered, on guitar and on ukulele

THE SONG'S OWN FACTS
Set the key, or take the one the chords suggest. Tap the tempo - four taps on the beat - and where the sheet has bar lines it works out how long the song runs and offers to set the scroll to it. Both go in the file, so they are the band's answer rather than one phone's setting.

A TUNER
Guitar and ukulele, on the phone's microphone. It reads in cents and names the string you are on. The microphone is asked for when you open the tuner, never at launch, and it is switched off the moment you leave.

SETLISTS
Put the songs in order, watch the running time against the length of your slot, and leave yourself a note beside a song.

A PAGE TURNER
AirTurn, PageFlip, any HID pedal - including the ones that send the volume keys. Each direction can turn a page, start and stop the scroll, move a few lines, or go to the next song.

PLAYING TOGETHER
Open a song from one of your bands and bandcue asks whether you are playing it together. Everybody else's phone tunes in on its own and scrolls with you, and whoever starts chooses whether they alone may move it or anybody in the band can. What travels is the song's file name, the line you are on, the key and the tempo - never a sheet, because you all already have the file.

ON YOUR WATCH
A Wear OS remote for when both hands are busy: start and stop the scroll, nudge it back or forward, go back to the top or on to the next song, and take or drop the lead. The count-in arrives as a buzz on your wrist. It needs bandcue on your phone, and it is part of Pro.

GETTING SONGS IN
Paste chord-site text or ChordPro. Open a file, or a whole backup from SongBook, SongbookPro or OnSong. Photograph a page and let the phone read it. Search a chord site from inside the app: bandcue draws the results itself, you read the one you picked, and nothing is kept until you say so. Or type it yourself - half of a working band's book is its own transcription.

WHERE YOUR SONGS ARE
On your phone, and in the folder you choose. Bandcue never fetches a chord sheet on its own: every song here is one you put in - typed, pasted, opened, or found by a search you asked for and kept because you chose to - and you can export the lot as a zip of ChordPro at any time, for free, for ever.

BANDCUE PRO
An optional subscription, monthly or yearly, and the line it draws is one sentence: reading and playing are free, making and changing are what you pay for.

Free, with no account and no limit on how many songs you keep: every sheet you have opens, scrolls at the speed you set for it, transposes on screen, takes a capo, and exports as ChordPro. So does every sheet of every band you are in. The tuner and the metronome are free. Getting your songs out is free, all of them, at any time, for ever.

Pro is the making: the editor and every way of getting a song in, the scroll that follows the bars, notes anchored to the lines they are about, the cloud library that keeps your songs on every phone you use, starting a band and its shared book, and playing a song together on stage.

A subscription that ends takes nothing away. Your songs stay here, still open, still scroll, still export. What ends is writing.

What’s new

Updated October 3, 2026

Since 2026.9.24: the song screen's controls are icons in two tidy rows, and holding one tells you what it does. Your own setlists stay yours when a band syncs, and songs and setlists are saved so a crash cannot empty them. Flat keys show flats (Bb, Eb) and [Chorus] is a section, not a chord. The watch stays live through a whole song, leaving the stage really leaves it, and you can share a .cho, a zip or a backup straight into bandcue.
